ViewSonic VA926 19-inch LCD Monitor Review

For a number of years I have had a Viewsonic VP2130b and count my blessings every time I turn my number 1 computer on. Thus, it is no surprise that when I started researching monitors for my number 2 computer, I included the Viewsonic brand.

I went with the 19″ VA926 for a number of reasons other than my satisfaction with the VP2130b.

One huge plus is the screen aspect. Far from being a widescreen…. it even exceeds the 4:3 ratio. The viewable screen measures 15″ in width by 12″ in height which works out to a 5 to 4 ratio. PLENTY of room in height to view web pages or documents without resorting to scrolling. With the 5:4 aspect you get very close to the same viewable height on this 19″ monitor as with a standard 21″.

The resolution is 1280 x 1024 so I can’t expect to get the same detail as with the 1600 x 1200 of the VP2130b, but then consider that it’s only about a third the money.

The image colors are strikingly vivid and bright compared to the considerably more expensive VP2130b, though not having the quite the resolution.

Lastly, it’s really good looking and compact for a screen almost a 180 square inches in area.

I’m very pleased with the VA926 and would buy it all over again in a heart beat……

Very nice real-19″ monitor; a couple quibbles. – DavidU – SoCal
The high ratings given by others seem accurate as to performance. I’ve had my VA926 for more than a month now and am very satisfied. The 5:4 aspect ratio and lack of speakers, suits my preference and available space, as I don’t use a PC for movies. Two caveats for others: The instructions say nothing about adjusting the tilt, which was slightly frontward. The pivot bolt was so tight I feared breaking the plastic moldings if I tried to tilt the screen back; and there was no way to get at the nut with a wrench. Finally I phoned ViewSonic and a helpful tech said to just hold the screen at top and bottom and push the top back firmly. That worked. Second, The five buttons are silver color in the photo. In reality they are tiny black rectangles with microscopic legends molded in, against a black bezel –basically unreadable, and not single-function. To adjust brightness today, I had to put in the CD and find the pages in the User Guide pdf to explain the buttons. “Designers” who just mold important legends into black plastic are idiots, sadists or both: lawyers!

One of the last 4:3 aspect ratio monitors that I could find on the market. I use a KVM for multiple computers and the 16:4 aspect ratio does not work well. My previous ViewSonic 19″ LCD lasted 5 years of continuous use and I expect to get another 5 years out of this one. I have never been disappointed with any of the ViewSonic products and any problems were immediately handled by the company without issue.

The quality and resolution are excellent with the controls in the front where they are easy to reach. Just a solid 19″ monitor.

ViewSonic VG1930wm 19-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor Review

Got this View Sonic as a Father’s Day gift. The wide screen offers an entirely new experience.

However, beware that according to the manufacturer, the optimal screen resolution is 1440×900. My pc is about 8 years old and I can’t achieve that high a resolution (without, I’m told, investing in a new graphics card).

The resolution I currently have the monitor set at is okay, but the text appears furry or fuzzy. Since mostly what I do is read/write, this is bothersome.

Excellent picture at a great price. The screen brightness is awesome. I love the flexibility of the stand height, swivel and tilt adjustments. The only downfall is the integrated speakers. I ended up turning them off since they were barely audible. The computer’s mono speaker was 15 times louder. For stereo quality sound, I definitely would plan on using external speaker system. ViewSonic should not even bother putting speakers in the unit.

The VG1930 has a big bright reasonably tsght screen when used in the VGA mode. The screen really comes to life in the digital mode. Speakers are not the greatest but adiquet. Good buy for the price.

I have bought and distributed quickly, im happy to amazon.com and how fast you were able to ship my order. I'm out of the box, plugged in and used the DVI cable and connected to my Geforce 6600GT. This monitor has worked very well. I downloaded a little utility to check for dead pixels and found none. I saw some negative reviews on this screen. The color is off a bit "darker hues do not show their deep contrast (Ive never seen an LCD productsgood contrast in colors black or dark), the sRGB option makes everything washed and very bright. The response time is good, I use VSYNC in all my games and they seem really nice (with all LCD monitors, vsync off bad option because of slower speed of 60 Hz LCD upgrade for most, but this unit can do 75Hz, which is a bit "better) I do not like the color contrast and darker colors are not correct, but apart from that, this screen is a large consuming less energy and less of 'your spaceold CRT and it is a good deal for the money.

Not suitable for industrial application – Aaron Meyer –
I had four of these monitors in use (in a climate controlled room) for a little over a year. I had two failures and problems of "synchronize" the video signal with KVM extenders with a brand new HP spare XP and 2003.

3 dead pixle industry standard – SJR – AZ
Looks like a big monitor, except for bright red pixle dead in the center of the screen. At least Newegg listing pixle their political death – ordered from Amazon because they had good customer service in the past and want nothing to do with dead pixles. Guess what – Amazon Advertising policy pixle deaths of more than 3 dead pixles should be considered defective. He should eat Harbors nothing less. Go to a store where you can actually see the monitor connected beforebuy. Or you may get stuck with a defective product or to eat the shipping. You definitely take the opportunity to follow the command line – pay for defects.

ViewSonic VG930m 19-inch LCD Monitor Review

My 19 "Acer LCD, which was about two years went completely kaput, so I used that as an opportunity to buy the Viewsonic (this was my office). I used a home for about ViewSonic 5 years and have been fully satisfied, so I chose to replace the Acer brand mediocre.

The new unit was very easy to install – just plug, load the software and go. I had to lower the brightness, but otherwise, everything is great. The colors are vibrant,the text is clear and strong, the image does not need to align or adjustments (brightness my preference), there are no dead pixels, brightness of the panel / backlight is uniform across the screen, and in general are very happy. And 'the best way to Acer. While waiting for my new widescreen Acer monitor I connected a replacement as a temporary replacement. The Viewsonic has much, much better than images and text. The pain of being a little "more for extra quality.

Wonderful screen, one dead pixel – Pooglet – Durham, NC
My husband bought this for me because it's supposed to be one of the best screens on the market regarding the quality and the color is (he did lots of research). This is true. It's great for the eyes, and you spend a lot of time writing documents or working on documents, instead (ie not widescreen) screen size is great, because you see many pages. You can also adjust the height very well, and the screen is relatively compact, so it does not take much desk space. I canComments on technical details, but as an amateur user, it works very well. A star on a point which appeared three weeks after birth. This is not really a problem for me, I can not see most of the time, but it should be mentioned.
